The general specification for cement plastering are:
– Single coat cement plastering – 12 or 15 or 20mm. Cement plaster with a floating coat of neat cement – 12 or 15 or 20mm. Cement plaster 2 coats work – 18mm.
– Plastering is done by applying cement mortar with required ratio i. e. 1:3, 1:4, 1:6 on the walls and the plaster should be in straight line, level and plumb and the joint must be in right angle. The surface to be plastered should be racked out and cleaned with wire brush.
PLASTER TO WALLS:
– Plaster to internal faces of walls shall be 15mm thick comprising of one part cement and six parts of clean. fine sand. The external surfaces of external wall shall have plaster of 10mm thickness comprising of one part of cement and 4 parts of clean fine sand to form base for vapour barrier.
– BS EN 13914-2:2005 is the recognised industry standard for the application of plaster.
